C'mon Glambert, You Can Do It!

 

Last night was American Idol history.

History in that I personally have never felt the urge to pick up the phone and vote for a contestant.  Never.  Not in however many seasons.

The Hubs and I watch the show religiously, but have never ever voted... until last night.

Simon made a good point last week - that if you want someone to win, you have to vote for them.  Plain and simple.

Well, I've never wanted someone to win more than I want Adam Lambert to win, so, I did my civic duty and picked up the phone.

C'mon Glambert, you can do it!

What to wear to the 80s prom?

I've been given a very special assignment today - find an outfit for one of my work daddies to wear to the 80s Prom at the Country Club...

Yes, it's true... this is sometimes part of the stuff that I do at work... oh, and I'm happy to do it... beats the heck outta the last job I had...

Anywho, I've been thinking a bunch about what kind of outfit would best suit Daddy #2 (I have three work Daddies)... I also have to take into consideration what kind of reaction he will receive at the Country Club on the night of the party... oh how I would love to be a fly on the wall at that party...

So, the first thought was to go obvious...

Pretty easy to find pastel t-shirt with white jacket and white linen pants. He could say he's Don Johnson OR James Spader in Pretty in Pink...

The Hubs thought this would be good...

...and I agree... there's nothing that says "80s" and "prom" quite like the Duck-man...

Daddy #2 thought something along the stoner/ burnout lines might be appropriate, but I'm thinking that for a prom, stoner is too casual... perhaps something a bit more... Dio...

Oh yes, Ronnie James... you're prom-worthy indeed!

But maybe he'd be man enough to rock the Culture Club?


In the end... I think what would work best would be some tight-rolled baggy jeans, penny loafers with white socks, a cummerbund and bow-tie...

A couple of Noelle fun-facts for you this fine Tuesday afternoon...

Fun Fact #1. I'm in a band called Unitard.



We've performed twice in our 8 or so years together... once at a Madonna Hoot Night at a lesbian bar... once on New Year's Eve at a friends house party.

Both performances were white hot.

People talked about them for years... you see, Unitard prefers to perform in medley format... 9 song epic Madonna medley for the hoot night... and a medley of medleys for the party - the "Fire & Ice", a tribute to Journey, etc...


Fun Fact #2. I've been trying to put together a dance team for years with my friend Bill Jeffery of The Bill Jefferys.

He always thought I was kidding... but I am totally drop dead serious... I even have a name for the team... Spirit Finger... isn't that great?


Why am I telling you all of this? Because I wanted to introduce you to the greatest thing I've seen on the interweb in a long long time...

He has caused havoc in his aquarium by performing juggling tricks using his fellow occupants, smashing rocks against the glass and turning off the power by shortcircuiting a lamp.

The Alphabet Meme - Movie Meme A-Z

Oh Snap! I got tagged for another meme!

This time, it was The Husband that done did the tagging...

Today's meme is all about movies - A to Z!

Here are the rules according to Blog Cabins:

(Oh, real quick, rule 3 looks all imposing and bossy, but once you figure out not to use any films from the Star Wars, LOTR, Indiana Jones, or the Narnia series, you’ll be fine).

The Rules

1. Pick one film to represent each letter of the alphabet.

2. The letter “A” and the word “The” do not count as the beginning of a film’s title, unless the film is simply titled A or The, and I don’t know of any films with those titles.

3. Return of the Jedi belongs under “R,” not “S” as in Star Wars Episode IV: Return of the Jedi.
