Me and my big ideas...

So, it was time to buy new couches for the living room.
We still had the same set-up from the old house, scratched up couch and all.
My original plan was to re-upholster the existing couch and then upholster the one-armed couch we have in the garage to match it...
...but when I really thought about it... do I really want to spend time, money, effort, labor, sweat and probably tears on painstakingly re-doing old furniture just so my cats can work their claw magic... or do I just want to spend money...

Thanks to Ikea, the "just spend money" idea was my final decision...
So, now, I have two brand spankin' new couches... un-scratched... for now.
But of course, none of my existing other furniture matches them... had to go order coffee and end tables too... need a new light fixture there in the corner... need some new curtains so the room isn't so drab...

I am pleased that my Amy Butler lotus fabric (thanks for the idea MB) matches so well!
I'm in the process of making pillows out of it as we speak!
More updates soon on the "complete living room makeover" that was just supposed to be "we need more seating"...
